Before I Self Destruct Projected To Sell Only 160,000 Units First Week

We thought by now that 50cent would have changed up his formula by not beefing with artist’s that really have no relevance to his record sales or career for that matter. Those tactics were cute back in the Ja Rule days but those days are over. Hit’s Daily Double has projected that Fif may only sell 160,000 in the first week, which is the lowest sales he has ever had in a first week up to date.
According to sales projection site hitsdailydouble.com, the G UnitCEO latest project will land behind chart topper John Mayer’s new LP Battle Studies (projected to push 275,000-300,000) and possibly albums from songstress Norah Jones, Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, and Christian band Casting Crowns.
Before I Self-Destruct has been plagued by numerous pushbacks over the last year. Since an initial release announcement in February 2008, 50 has released 4 singles, including 2 that did not make the final tracklisting: “Get Up,” “I Get It In,” “Ok, You’re Right,” and “Baby By Me.”
Additionally, the album leaked a whole month early on October, prompting the Queens native to push up the release date from November 23 to November 16 after gauging positive feedback from fans.
If the projected numbers hold, Before I Self-Destruct will be 50 Cent’s lowest debut week, following 2007’s Curtis (695,000), 2003’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’ (872,000), and 2005’s The Massacre (1.5 million). Because the album hit iTunes a week early, those digital sales will be added to the rapper’s total tally.
To date, the latest single “Baby By Me” has peaked at #28 on Billboard’s Top 100.
At press time, the mogul’s next single will be “Get It Hot,” featuring Lloyd Banks.
On a side note: I guess Fif need to stick to acting and selling vitamin water and who are those kids in the picture above?

Swazy Baby should be commended. While other up and coming artists are busy trying to bury their underground past, Swazy Baby continues to capitalize on his. And why not? It was using mixtapes as a way to build his buzz up intially, Swazy caught the eye of Bigga Rankin.
Clicking up with B-Rich and TJ Chapman, B.o.B was able to turn his underground success into a deal with Atlantic Records. After a slew of critically acclaimed mixtapes, cross-country tours and commercial placements B.o.B still has that spark in his eyes and energy in his voice that he did when I first saw him on stage.
The 90’s was great era for hip-hop but it was equally great for R&B. Many acts have come and go since then, but the foursome of Jagged Edge has seemed to have staying power. Since their dropping their debut single "The Way That You Talk" back in 1997, JE has been a regular site on the R&B scene.
C-Ride is used to the spotlight, even if you’re not used to his name yet. The Florida representor has been a staple of the Epidemic Music/Polo Grounds team for years now. After making a name for himself on the underground, he’s ready to make his presence known in the mainstream.
"I aint never left the scene! I’m always grinding." Bold words like that are normally served for underground artists still trying to get their buzz up. You wouldn't expect an artists who has signed to major deals, posted hit records and has sold units to still speak about grinding it out. But Yo Gotti isn't the average artist
