Beyonce Is Billboard magazine’s ‘Woman of the Year’

This Single Ladies star has made quite the name for herself lately and Billboard magazine is giving Beyonce the cherry on top – Billboard magazine’s 2009 “Woman of the Year” award.
Billboard mag hosts their recognition every year to bring the top 30 women in the music industry into the spotlight.
The 28-year-old Houston-native claimed her prize for “Woman of the Year” at a gala brunch in New York this weekend – Adding the award to her already extensive repertoire.
“Beyonce is a multi-platinum artist and a multi-talented woman who clearly embodies the qualities of excellence and achievement that the Billboard Woman of the Year Award was created to honor,” Billboard magazine editorial director Bill Werde said.
Beyonce’s 2009 “Woman of the Year” nomination was her 15th nomination for a Billboard award and seventh winning honor.
“She has not only influenced pop culture with her hit songs and her signature dance moves, but has inspired women everywhere with her unique style, business savvy and dedication to charitable causes.”
