Happy Birthday Dr. King We Will Disgrace You No More!
By Isis Wisdom

How many of you know what Dr King Really stood for? It would seem that since his death African American progressed in areas of success but we most certainly have not progressed in unity, strength and growth of intelligence. Seems like there is an agenda to keep everybody dumbed down and stupid.
When I look at old video footage of Dr. King giving his speeches, I sometimes feel as if I was there. I started asking questions like what has changed since back then? We were more unified and knew who we were then we do now. The racism in this country has jumped to an all time high since the inauguration of our first black president under the US constitution. I have to emphasize that because there were 8 other black presidents in the article of confederation which I won’t go into here.
Non the less when I see just how separate we really act toward one another something happens that will always unify us to at least remember that we are not all lost. Katrina, Haiti, police brutality, staggering numbers of African Americans in the american prison systems and how we can’t even barely hold on economically in this country are swift reminders of who we are and that we must not give up. The thing I really like about Dr King was the fact that he preached unity and equal rights and justice for all of us. When will all be able to sit down at the table and eat as brothers and sisters? Is that really just a dream and nothing more?
We have to set a better example for our youth and take responsibility for our own mess. Stop looking to others to clean up our conditions that we consciously choose to be in. We know what happened, but it’s a new day, Haiti proved that we can unify for them now let’ begin to unify for us.

Swazy Baby should be commended. While other up and coming artists are busy trying to bury their underground past, Swazy Baby continues to capitalize on his. And why not? It was using mixtapes as a way to build his buzz up intially, Swazy caught the eye of Bigga Rankin.
Clicking up with B-Rich and TJ Chapman, B.o.B was able to turn his underground success into a deal with Atlantic Records. After a slew of critically acclaimed mixtapes, cross-country tours and commercial placements B.o.B still has that spark in his eyes and energy in his voice that he did when I first saw him on stage.
The 90’s was great era for hip-hop but it was equally great for R&B. Many acts have come and go since then, but the foursome of Jagged Edge has seemed to have staying power. Since their dropping their debut single "The Way That You Talk" back in 1997, JE has been a regular site on the R&B scene.
C-Ride is used to the spotlight, even if you’re not used to his name yet. The Florida representor has been a staple of the Epidemic Music/Polo Grounds team for years now. After making a name for himself on the underground, he’s ready to make his presence known in the mainstream.
"I aint never left the scene! I’m always grinding." Bold words like that are normally served for underground artists still trying to get their buzz up. You wouldn't expect an artists who has signed to major deals, posted hit records and has sold units to still speak about grinding it out. But Yo Gotti isn't the average artist
