Is Jay-Z The Most Hated Man In Hip-hop?

When I look into these eyes I fully understood what Jay-Z meant when he titled his album “Blue Print 2 the gift and the curse.” I chose this photo on purpose because it serves in my mind as a marker. A marker of when he would fully commit to walking through that door of either taking the blue pill or the red pill for his success. It would make one wonder how comfortable he really felt when he had to leave those behind him to attain the success he has now.

Who is the man in the mirror? Why is he hated on so much? I mean let’s face it, is it because he has the richest R&B singer in the world as his wife? Is it because he has a clothing line that rakes in millions? Is it because he has the major corporate and political connections and backing? Is it because he is the only rapper in hip-hop history that has a president on speed dial in his blackberry? Or is it because he has consistently through out his career been able to sell albums, and sell out damn near every concert that he ever does? How many solo rappers can sell out Madison square gardens? How many rappers is going gold in the first week of sales in this climate of nobody selling records? Jay-Z has served as the Blue print of understanding that hip-hop is more then a music genre it is a business!

Lately I have seen people come after Jay-Z like I have never seen it. Nobody had a lot to say though before his brand evolved in to something else. Some may say that he is beyond hip-hop. Maybe he showed an example of Hip-hops unlimited potential? Like him or not Jay-Z was able to do something that no other rapper could do. But then you can’t name all of these accomplishments and not acknowledge the people that helped him get there. Whether he will admit to it or not there were many toes that got stepped on and many doors that closed, on other potential emcees that may have even turned out to be better then him. But it’s more then about skills in this game it is about you the brand.

Not to mention the severed ties between him and Dame Dash, the wolf that was needed to get him over that hump. Or the support of Jazz-O who practically raised Jay and taught him a lot of what he needed to know for him to survive the time in Marcy. See I’m a firm believer that people come in to your life through stages. They provide what was needed at that time and if you are not smart enough to recognize opportunities when given to you, you can lose out.

I’m not sure that Jay-Z was one of those dudes. He give’s me the sense of an opportunist but not so much in a bad way. Jay-Z is a great chess player of life. You only have one life to live why not live it to the fullest right? While there maybe some strong evidence against Jay-Z and his association with Free Masonry and other elite secret societies that may be playing a part in his career. The truth of the matter is secret societies have always played a role in peoples careers who have a lot of success. The difference is the masses are finally starting to see what has always been in front of their faces in plain site.

Does it change the fact that Jay-Z is on top of his game? You can’t hate on success the only thing you can do is follow the “Blue Print” and use your energy to get you to another level. Jay-Z has elevated with his music over the years and he took the risk that every rapper that was in the game should have done themselves, and that was think out side of the box creatively. You can’t be mad at that. Jay-Z’s blue print 3 was a great album. Not really acknowledging beefs that did not serve his career was a smart move. Although his shots are ever so subliminal it is a good tactic to use. 50cent would have done well to change up his style to something different so he could sell more records.

What ever it is that’s got you guys hating maybe perhaps you have to take a hard look at the man in the mirror and ask yourself why are you really mad? Are you mad because he is successful? Did it seem like he left you behind or you didn’t take the time out to really control your career and be in charge of the direction it was going? A person can only do to you what you allow them to do. Did you have a top management team? When you saw that your career was going south did you look at your career as a business or was you still down for the homie’s? Did you plan ahead?

Do you really think to get to his success in hip-hop that staying down with the homie’s is going to elevate your career? You see to play in the world he is playing in you have to be heartless to some degree or even detached. You have to think like the people whose world you are trying so hard to fit in to. Because there only two things that a person who is wealthy cares about that is money and power. Mainly power! You have to make a serious sacrifice to self to enjoy that success. Remember never be subject to other peoples limitations. The creator created you so go on out here and create and take advantage of every opportunity out here that is given to you.

Jay-Z is probably and arguably the greatest man in hip-hop to have been able to transcend all barriers in the music genre of success and he understood that hip-hop is a business. You can’t be upset when all of you same dudes was making money off of the business of hip-hop just like he was and still is. I think it’s time for people to stop pointing fingers and look at themselves. We are such haters, if it was any other rapper out here would you still be hating?

I dont think he’s hated i personally don’t think the move by DefJam that caused a wedge between Dame and him was very very suspect. Dame said in an youtube video that “Jay hasn’t been in this building or offfice in 3 years” which means Dame was handling business when needed. I’ve seen a few artist that have had snakey labels come in and try to throw a wedge between the artist and their core management and in the end leave the artist high and dry. Considering, i have my own tee line i can feel Dame’s gripe about Jay taking the Roc A Fella brand…and the only response Jay could give him was i took it because they offered. Thats something that a non business minded person would say.. he probably knows now but branding is major!! and i can feel the frustration of losing your brand. I dont think he owes Jaz O sht.. that’s like saying you owe the tireman a kickback because you got a compliment on your rims a month later.

Mr. Dash was talking all that nonsense about how he made Jay. I don’t blame Jay for leaving and If Mr Dash really made Jay then do it again with another artist. Jay never lost focus and thats why he is so successful. Mr. Dash a little less talking and a quite bit more focus might put you in the same situation. Maybe!

Fada right, Jay don’t owe Jaz-O shit, he helped him along the way, but it’s over. Dame on the otherhand, while I understand to compete in the business world you gotta be cutthroat and Jay did what he needed to do to maintain & evolve his business, but the issue is how he went about it, not what he did.
Dame Dash didn’t give Jay-Z talent, but he made him what he is NOW. So this ‘do it again’ talk is lik askin to make another Oprah. Jay had the freedom to make the music he wanted to for as long as he wanted to cuz Dame was the bulldog in the boardroom fightin Jay’s battles, if dame has left his ass in 96 no way Jay would have the career & empire he does now. He’d be in the same place Nas, Mobb Deep, Foxy & Lil Kim @ now.
I think most rappers & even younger ppl in the game hate on Jay because of his unmatched success. Hot rappers come but they don’t normally last 10+ yrs. Jay’s at a place in his career that he’s not makin music for one specific demographic, while others focus on pleasing a niche target group, while that may be good in the short-term it never equals to long term longevity. Ha 50 changed up his style & m.o. awhile back, maybe he too would be debuting on the charts @ #1 instead of doin Rick Ross numbers.
