Fada right, Jay don't owe Jaz-O shit, he helped him along the way, but it's over. Dame on the otherhand, while I understand to compete in the business world you gotta be cutthroat and Jay did what he needed to do to maintain & evolve his business, but the issue is how he went about it, not what he did.
Dame Dash didn't give Jay-Z talent, but he made him what he is NOW. So this 'do it again' talk is lik askin to make another Oprah. Jay had the freedom to make the music he wanted to for as long as he wanted to cuz Dame was the bulldog in the boardroom fightin Jay's battles, if dame has left his ass in 96 no way Jay would have the career & empire he does now. He'd be in the same place Nas, Mobb Deep, Foxy & Lil Kim @ now.
I think most rappers & even younger ppl in the game hate on Jay because of his unmatched success. Hot rappers come but they don't normally last 10+ yrs. Jay's at a place in his career that he's not makin music for one specific demographic, while others focus on pleasing a niche target group, while that may be good in the short-term it never equals to long term longevity. Ha 50 changed up his style & m.o. awhile back, maybe he too would be debuting on the charts @ #1 instead of doin Rick Ross numbers.

Mr. Dash was talking all that nonsense about how he made Jay. I don't blame Jay for leaving and If Mr Dash really made Jay then do it again with another artist. Jay never lost focus and thats why he is so successful. Mr. Dash a little less talking and a quite bit more focus might put you in the same situation. Maybe!

I dont think he's hated i personally don't think the move by DefJam that caused a wedge between Dame and him was very very suspect. Dame said in an youtube video that "Jay hasn't been in this building or offfice in 3 years" which means Dame was handling business when needed. I've seen a few artist that have had snakey labels come in and try to throw a wedge between the artist and their core management and in the end leave the artist high and dry. Considering, i have my own tee line i can feel Dame's gripe about Jay taking the Roc A Fella brand...and the only response Jay could give him was i took it because they offered. Thats something that a non business minded person would say.. he probably knows now but branding is major!! and i can feel the frustration of losing your brand. I dont think he owes Jaz O sht.. that's like saying you owe the tireman a kickback because you got a compliment on your rims a month later.
