Grammy Award Nominated Artist, Raheem DeVaughn, Provides “Emotional Stimulus” with the ‘The Art of Noise’ Mixtape Release-June 15, 2009

On January 20, 2009, President Obama stated in his inaugural address to the world that, “The success of our economy has always depended… on the reach of our prosperity; on the ability to extend opportunity to every willing heart — not out of charity, but because it is the surest route to our common good.” Grammy Nominated, JIVE Records Recording Artist Raheem DeVaughn has answered this call to action in his own unique way. The Art of Noise is DeVaughn’s latest mix CD project, with more than 15 original, unreleased tracks through his recently launched record label venture, 368 MUSIC GROUP. The Art of Noise will be available for free via download at www.368musicgroup.com or http://www.megaupload.com/?d=35UMDGM2, in addition to various online sites on June 15, 2009.
Raheem DeVaughn, the self-proclaimed, R&B Hippie Neo Soul Rock Star, has received numerous accolades and recognition for his smooth, soulful sound. While Raheem is known for his love songs, he has a passion for bringing awareness to social and political issues that affect all people. Raheem DeVaughn has even been called the modern day Marvin Gaye by some, because of his style of weaving strong conscious messages in his music while still captivating his audience. He sees the current world climate as an issue that we all must take seriously. Thus his feels obligated to use his talent to raise awareness to the possibilities for change. “These are difficult times we are living in and everyone is affected, directly or indirectly. We all know someone that has lost a job, a house, or simply struggling just to make ends meet. If we all do a little, no one has to do a lot,” says DeVaughn.
Raheem DeVaughn feels that the entertainment industry has a responsibility to the people to give something back. “This current climate that we live in, affects me too. If my fans lose their jobs and their homes, and can’t put food on the table, they definitely cannot buy my music. They should not have to make that choice. Many of my fans tell me that they love me and I’ve always said that I love them back. This is my way of showing them that love. I want to show love to my fans by giving them the Raheem DeVaughn music that they want,” says DeVaughn.
Raheem DeVaughn has released two albums under Jive Records, his first project, The Love Experience, released in 2005. His sophomore project, Love Behind the Melody, released in 2008 and came in #5 on the Billboard Top 200 and #1 Top R&B/HipHop Albums. DeVaughn has received high awards and honors including a 2008 Grammy nomination for Best Male Vocal Performance for “Woman” and a 2009 Grammy nomination for Best R&B Song “Customer” (both from his sophomore work). With this new project, DeVaughn aims to introduce his music to a broader audience while offering his fans a worthy teaser as they await his highly anticipated third album, The Love and War MasterPeace, due out later this year.

Swazy Baby should be commended. While other up and coming artists are busy trying to bury their underground past, Swazy Baby continues to capitalize on his. And why not? It was using mixtapes as a way to build his buzz up intially, Swazy caught the eye of Bigga Rankin.
Clicking up with B-Rich and TJ Chapman, B.o.B was able to turn his underground success into a deal with Atlantic Records. After a slew of critically acclaimed mixtapes, cross-country tours and commercial placements B.o.B still has that spark in his eyes and energy in his voice that he did when I first saw him on stage.
The 90’s was great era for hip-hop but it was equally great for R&B. Many acts have come and go since then, but the foursome of Jagged Edge has seemed to have staying power. Since their dropping their debut single "The Way That You Talk" back in 1997, JE has been a regular site on the R&B scene.
C-Ride is used to the spotlight, even if you’re not used to his name yet. The Florida representor has been a staple of the Epidemic Music/Polo Grounds team for years now. After making a name for himself on the underground, he’s ready to make his presence known in the mainstream.
"I aint never left the scene! I’m always grinding." Bold words like that are normally served for underground artists still trying to get their buzz up. You wouldn't expect an artists who has signed to major deals, posted hit records and has sold units to still speak about grinding it out.
