Straight No Chaser: I’m Just Not Feeling It
By Isis Wisdom

Peace, You ever feel like you are called to do something completely different then what you are doing, but you find yourself struggling to make an informed decision? I feel like somethings has ran it’s course with me. I been really focusing on the spiritual side of things. No guys I’m not talking about religion because I have my own personal opinions about religion which I won’t go in to here. More Below.
Lately I had to take time in to account all the death of 2009, a lot of loss for family and loved ones. Not to mention all the celebrities and DJs that died this year. I also saw people more ignorant than I have ever seen them this year. Nobody critically thinks, people don’t like to read anything past a paragraph or two and even when they have to read it better be entertaining only. God forbid that you write about something meaningful because you begin to start losing people. I often sit back and wonder how much does this magazine contribute to the foolishness?
Being here on 3D earth the material world, I thought that if i could jump in to another reality (spirituality) then I wouldn’t see as much foolishness as I’ve seen here. Man was I wrong. It’s even worse there because you have people that should know better at least here you can just use peoples ignorance as an excuse and keep it moving. But when I see a group of people who are supposed to teaching people to develop a higher consciousness on a spiritual level get ousted like we are in hip-hop exposing some fraud for laughs I realized that I got to give myself some time. As I realize the mission is about myself and not everybody else and certainly not the man or woman or leader.
More and more each day I see a spiritual battle taking place right before my very eyes and that battle is with in the mind. I’m seeing a lot more people losing respect for themselves, their morales and values and everything that they were brought up to make them a better person. A lot of evil being displayed and so unnecessary. It’s hard to come back here and update the site over and over and over again when the only thing that get’s posted has little meaning and no substance. I don’t see how as you the human being chose to be entertained in such a way, I just don’t get it.
While each person has a destiny of their own to fulfill, as a media outlet we have a certain amount of responsibility to the community or audience that read our stuff. I know you may find that hard to believe as everyone has made it clear that they are out for themselves. I just got one question to ask you all. When has that method of looking out for yourself ever helped you or the people around you? Was those results long term? It’s a cold and evil world out here, how much longer do you really believe that you have out here by yourself? Yes entertainment is cool but it’s not real. The truth is all the people in the world that you chose to read or talk about are real human beings but these are people you will never meet in your life time. They won’t help you when your lights get cut out or you can’t pay your bills for the month.
I just had to vent because things have been weighing heavy on my mind. We all need and can do better for ourselves starting with self first. Think about how you can do better even if you feel you don’t have much to offer. Every human being has much to offer, maybe not by the way of the material world, but a hug, or a compliment, maybe some donation of your time is all that is needed. I got a feeling that in 2010 we are going to need each other more now then we ever have.
Peace and much love, Isis Wisdom

Swazy Baby should be commended. While other up and coming artists are busy trying to bury their underground past, Swazy Baby continues to capitalize on his. And why not? It was using mixtapes as a way to build his buzz up intially, Swazy caught the eye of Bigga Rankin.
Clicking up with B-Rich and TJ Chapman, B.o.B was able to turn his underground success into a deal with Atlantic Records. After a slew of critically acclaimed mixtapes, cross-country tours and commercial placements B.o.B still has that spark in his eyes and energy in his voice that he did when I first saw him on stage.
The 90’s was great era for hip-hop but it was equally great for R&B. Many acts have come and go since then, but the foursome of Jagged Edge has seemed to have staying power. Since their dropping their debut single "The Way That You Talk" back in 1997, JE has been a regular site on the R&B scene.
C-Ride is used to the spotlight, even if you’re not used to his name yet. The Florida representor has been a staple of the Epidemic Music/Polo Grounds team for years now. After making a name for himself on the underground, he’s ready to make his presence known in the mainstream.
"I aint never left the scene! I’m always grinding." Bold words like that are normally served for underground artists still trying to get their buzz up. You wouldn't expect an artists who has signed to major deals, posted hit records and has sold units to still speak about grinding it out. But Yo Gotti isn't the average artist
