The Goodie Mob Reunion presented by Shameless Plug Recap
Photography By Dennis Byron

The Goodie Mob Reunion presented by Shameless Plug was a hip-hop lovers success. With special performances by the legendary Pastor Troy, The Young Bloods, DJ Kizzy Rock, with DJ Jelly rocking on the ones and twos. I don’t think they could have picked a better DJ to handle the type of show that represents Atlanta to the fullest.
The energy was electrifying and the anticipation was almost something that was to much to bare. I personally have never seen Goodie Mob in a concert before, so for me it was like taking me back to 10 years ago when I was green in the game trying to build my relationships and attended every show there was realizing that I’m not only a journalist but a fan. For the record I was asked where was Dre3000? I don’t know but him not showing up to the show had no impact either way. Goodie Mob held it down and Big Boi from outkast came out and killed it.

Poet Georgia Me did an excellent Job announcing the talent and her spoken world pieces reminds you of the Atlanta culture to the fullest.

When these guys came on to the stage I thought I was going to have a Lil mama moment. Looking around at the crowd behind made me realize that this group Goodie Mob is the soul to the Atlanta music scene. I’m not sure if there will ever be a group like this in the future of Atlanta hip-hop. With them performing their classic hits it reminded me that this whole click the Dungeon Family,Outkast,Goodie Mob is the root and soulfood to the Atlanta hip-hop scene and it needs to be respected. I’m not going to go in to a long dissertation but rather let you guys watch the footage for yourself to see why the Goodie Mob reunion was much needed. After seeing the show my car got towed and I wasn’t even mad. That just goes to show you the energy of the show.
Big Boi from Outkast came out and murdered his set with Trick Daddy’s “In Da Wind” with Ceelo and Sleepy Brown came out to do “Steppin Out.”
Now if you guys excuse me I have to go and cop all of their albums from I-tunes because I lost a lot of music when I had moved. I’m hearing they will be doing a Goodie Mob Reunion Album if that happens I will be first to have pre-ordered my music on I-tunes.

Swazy Baby should be commended. While other up and coming artists are busy trying to bury their underground past, Swazy Baby continues to capitalize on his. And why not? It was using mixtapes as a way to build his buzz up intially, Swazy caught the eye of Bigga Rankin.
Clicking up with B-Rich and TJ Chapman, B.o.B was able to turn his underground success into a deal with Atlantic Records. After a slew of critically acclaimed mixtapes, cross-country tours and commercial placements B.o.B still has that spark in his eyes and energy in his voice that he did when I first saw him on stage.
The 90’s was great era for hip-hop but it was equally great for R&B. Many acts have come and go since then, but the foursome of Jagged Edge has seemed to have staying power. Since their dropping their debut single "The Way That You Talk" back in 1997, JE has been a regular site on the R&B scene.
C-Ride is used to the spotlight, even if you’re not used to his name yet. The Florida representor has been a staple of the Epidemic Music/Polo Grounds team for years now. After making a name for himself on the underground, he’s ready to make his presence known in the mainstream.
"I aint never left the scene! I’m always grinding." Bold words like that are normally served for underground artists still trying to get their buzz up. You wouldn't expect an artists who has signed to major deals, posted hit records and has sold units to still speak about grinding it out. But Yo Gotti isn't the average artist
